Cannobio

Cannobio

Cannobio, a charming village that has managed to preserve its rich architectural-historical heritage as well as its natural lake and mountain setting, is located on the magnificent shores of Lake Maggiore, a short distance from the Swiss border.

Lake Maggiore’s mild climate allows us to admire luxuriant and richly varied vegetation in which local species are joined by typically Mediterranean and sub-tropical plants that give rise to the famous spring flowerings of mimosas, rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias.

Cannobio also has much to offer lovers of sport and active recreation: tennis courts, cycle paths, mountain bike trails and crazy golf. There is also the Lido: a large beach framed by ancient poplars where you are free to swim, sunbathe and practice water sports, in particular sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing which are favoured by constant winds (hire services and lessons available). Two ports are ranged along the village’s lake promenade and facilities for the mooring and landing of private boats are available.

There are also countless waymarked mountain trails that allow walkers to reach remote country settlements and peaks offering spectacular, unforgettable views. The area surrounding Cannobio is an infinite natural gymnasium just a stone’s throw from the lake for all those wishing to restore body and spirit.

Cannobio is appealing both during the summer and out of season when the village takes on a fairytale atmosphere: a mild climate, tranquillity, infinite greenery and a crystalline lake testifying to respect for nature.
